Firstly, Wieki Somers. Boy, what an annoying website, we've all had our fill of butterflied pointers, oh yes, but despite this her High Tea Pot (above) and Boat Bath (below) are wonderfully put together and beautiful examples of where design goes beyond simply functionality and encorporates thoughtful and, well, simply fun ideas.

Secondly, is Studio Job, who'd I been previously familiar with through MOOOI, but had not seen in the flesh until now their Robber Baron Table, which was a brilliant idea beautifully executed. I also enjoy their greyscale appareled posturing in front of their over-sized pieces in any marketing gumpf, which, when accompanied by the (imagined) sound of some slap-funked bass, cannot help but make me roll my eyes and give a little 'oh-you-guys' smile. Silly.

Finally, is Julia Lohmann, renowned for her 'Cow Benches' made from the stuffing of original and complete cow hinds. Inversely, 'Lasting Void' is cast from a bovine corpse. Her choice of material fully hones her concept, and delivers a remarkable design-object / objet d'art.
